Bio Retention

Bio Retention have become a strong focus for Maryland after passing the "Rain Tax" a few year back. Romano Concrete has crews specially trained in proper construction of these Bio Retention ponds (TMDL's).

Bio Retention is the process in which contaminants and sedimentation are removed from storm water runoff. Storm water is collected into the treatment area which consists of a grass buffer strip, sand bed, ponding area, organic layer or mulch layer, planting soil, and plants.  This filtered water then goes in to the traditional storm water management pipes and ultimately the Chesapeake Bay.
